
The Capital City
Before 1976
when the Federal Capital Territory was created by the Federal Military Government of the late General Murtala Mohammed the land that now serve as the capital of Nigeria was inhabited by people who speak Gade, Gbagyi, Gbari and Nupe languages, with the Gbagyi people as majority.
The Gbagyi women are popularly known
for carrying things on their shoulders which is said to be as their believe of the human head
being sacred and therefore need to be respeced.
Before civilization, the Gbagyi women are also well known for fetching woods inrespective of any other work they do. Wood fetching was a symbol of womanhood, and a woman with little
stake of wood is not respected and seen as lazy.
Gbagyi men are known for yam farming and hunting.
The Gbagyi people are
rule by a King who is most times refered to as the ESU.
Abuja (FCT) was carved out of three states Niger, Plateau and Kogi (formerly Kwara). It is bordered to the north by Kaduna State, to the east by Nassarawa State, to the south-west by Kogi State and to the west by Niger State.
Located in the geographical centre of Nigeria, The Federal Capital Territory lies between latitudes 8o 25'N and
9o 20'N and longitude 6o39', it central location
has further promote it as the center of unity of Nigeria.
It has a land area of 8,000 square kilometers. The land is undulating (i.e it has alot of ups and downs)
and naturally endowed with rolling rocks isolated highlands and vegetation of savannah grassland makes it a delightful
sight to behold, ones of such beautiful work of nature is the Zuma rock whose sight welcomes you to the city.
And because of the vital role it plays as the capital city of Nigeria, where all major government activity takes place
and due to the mega-scale development activities going on (which makes it one of the fastest developing cities in the world),
the city of Abuja it heavy with numerous investment oppotunities! Three of such areas of investment include; Agriculture,
Real estate development and Mining.
Yes! Mining, as just few people are aware that the FCT is also endowed with various high quality
solid mineral deposits such as MARBLE, MICA, SAND/CERAMIC CLAY, IRON, TIN AND LEAD, BUILDING AND CRUSHED STONES,
with potential for both domestic and export markets.
